January 2018 Abstract Painting Workshop
Cameron Schmitz (Demo painting)
I had a fantastic group of painters in my recent 3-Day Abstract Painting Workshop at River Gallery School of Art in Brattleboro, VT. Over the course of 3 days, we delved into different approaches to abstract painting and saw how those different approaches garnered different results. The painters in the class made some really beautiful paintings over the course of 3 days, potent with potential nuggets to continue to explore independently. Here are some photos of students' work from the workshop! (As always, there were lots of paintings that I missed the chance to photograph in time! ) I am always amazed in tickled by the range of expressiveness that presents itself in abstraction and how each painter creates works that illustrate their own voice and vision and soul.
