Good Morning Palette, A Morning Offering

This painting is 3/4 complete...just some editions left to be done to the tree: expanding it's upper shape so that it extends to reach further into the upper picture plane, with soft edges, disappearing into that humid, slightly hazy summer air.

I've been working on this painting for a few months now...it's specifically inspired by the areas of both Addison County and Windham County, around Putney, VT, where there are greater vistas, and wider, expansive fields, filled with warm golds and greens, overlaying the violet soft hues of the mountain tops in the distance. 

This particular work illustrates my utilization of paint application and color to create friction between both flat and deep space within the pictorial frame.
